In Finnish mythology it’s believed that the Aurora Borealis is caused by a firefox who ran so quickly across the snow that it’s tail caused sparks to fly into the night sky creating the Aurora. The Finnish word “revontulet” literally translates as “fox fire.” (via @ClareMFarmer)
